GoodWin acts on behalf of employees, regulated professionals, and unions.

Our Story

Our name comes from Albert "Ginger" Goodwin — a twentieth-century labour organizer who believed that working people deserved better. He fought for BC's coal miners and factory workers — for fair wages, safe conditions, and the eight-hour workday that is standard today.

The rights Goodwin and others like him won do not uphold themselves. Every generation inherits them and has to hold the line, case by case, negotiation by negotiation.

Carolyn Janusz founded GoodWin Law to carry that work forward — making sure that when someone is facing an employer or institution with far greater power and resources, there is a skilled legal advocate standing with them.

Goodwin's legacy is the work. The work continues at GoodWin Law.

The practitioners who thrive here are drawn to this industry because they care about people. Specifically, people navigating one of the hardest moments of their professional lives.

Our team is curious. We ask questions before we form opinions. We can sit with a client in a difficult moment and know what to say, and when to say nothing. We are honest when it’s uncomfortable, but only when it serves our client’s best interests.

If that's the kind of work you're looking for, we'd like to hear from you.
